GREGORY, S.D.(WNAX)- The new Avera Gregory Hospital should open later this month. The thirty-two million dollar facility greatly expand the size of the hospital and nursing home.

President Tony Timanus says they continue to look for the staff they need.

There are other hospitals near Gregory in Burke and Winner.
Timanus says the Covid-19 pandemic taught them some good lessons.

Timanus says despite several hospitals in south central South Dakota, there is room for all of them.

The new hospital will have an emergency room, seventeen inpatient beds and about thirty beds in the nursing home.
