US Army Corps of Engineers predict water storage to decrease on the Missouri River reservoirs

OMAHA, N.E.(WNAX)- The Corps of Engineers is predicting water storage in the Missouri River reservoirs will continue to fall over the next few months, leading to reduced releases later this fall. That’s based on long range weather predictions.

Kevin Low, with the Missouri Basin River Forecast Center, says August will continue on the warm side.

Low says rain will also fall short again this month.

Low says that trend is expected to continue through October.

A La Nina watch has been issued for later this year, which may have an impact on weather this winter into next spring.
