US Army Corps of Engineers provide update on Missouri River runoff

OMAHA, N.E.(KCCR)- The U-S Army Corps of Engineers held an update last week on runoff into the Missouri River.  Ryan Larsen with the Corps in Omaha, Nebraska says rainfall in May outperformed their earlier estimates.

Larsen says May rain across the basin and even snow is affecting the increase in runoff.

Matt Nelson with the Corps says the Oahe Reservoir will have plenty of room for runoff this year.

Releases from Gavin’s Point Dam in May averaged 25-thousand,300 million acre feet.
