USD making changes as a result of the SB55 study

VERMILLION, S.D.(WNAX)- Universities in South Dakota are implementing changes that came out of the SB55 study from last year. That was a bill passed in last year’s legislature that mandated the Board of Regents look for spending efficiencies in their system.

University of South Dakota President Sheila Gestring says many of the suggested changes had been underway on their campus.

Gestring says they have been able to add automation to some of their services.

Gestring says all the campuses will now share in the same food service contract.

Gestring says the hope is to limit future tuition increases as on campus costs rise.
