VERMILLION, S.D. (WNAX) – The student government association at the University of South Dakota has been pushing for creation of an on campus food pantry.
USD President Sheila Gestring says they liked the idea and will launch the pantry this fall.
Gestring says studies show there is a need amount university students.
Gestring says funding for the food pantry will be tied to their “Unite for USD” push this week.
Gestring says about one third of incoming students are from low income or first generation backgrounds.
