USD sees enrollment for education down

VERMILLION, S.D.(WNAX)- Convincing young people to think about teaching as a career is becoming more challenging.

University of South Dakota President Sheila Gestring says applications to their School of Education are lagging.

Gestring says low teacher pay is a problem in getting high school graduates to think about education as an option.

Tuition at state universities will be stable for another year at least.
