Vaccine starting to go to 1-D group this week

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota Health Department is opening up vaccine eligibility to the so called “1-D” group this week.

Department Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon says people should be hearing from their area health care providers.

Malsam-Rysdon says the state Covid website has more localized information.

Malsam-Rysdon says they will make sure people get the recommended second dose of the vaccine.

Group “1-D” includes people over 65 but starting with those over 80. High risk patients and residents in congregate settings, people with two or more underlying medical conditions, teachers, and funeral service workers.
