VERMILLION, S.D. (WNAX) – The Vermillion Area Chamber and Development Company wrapped up a fundraising drive by going well past their goal. 

The “Vermillion Now! 3” capital campaign goal was $1.7 million, but just over $2 million was pledged.

VCDC Executive Director Nate Welch says there are a number of areas they will focus on.

 Welch says they funds will be available when they see an opportunity.

Welch says they are open to ideas for investments.

Welch says they want to increase the number of young professionals in the area and push Vermillion’s population up by at least four percent.
