YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The Yankton County Commission has been dealing with short staffing in the Planning and Zoning office for most of the year. That has caused a slow down in issuing building permits and in code enforcement.
Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says they are taking steps to get up to speed.
It was announced at Tuesday night’s meeting that Gary Vetter, who had worked for the Brown County Commission in Aberdeen would become the Planning and Zoning Administrator on Monday.
Klimisch says they are still in the middle of cleaning up some left over issues in the zoning office.
Klimisch says they don’t want to overload the new administrator in the beginning.
The commission also will wait until they hear from States Attorney Rob Klimisch on code enforcement issues that came before the commission this week.
