VIBORG, S.D.(WNAX)- The Viborg-Hurley School District is among six in the state getting grants from the Environmental Protection Agency for new electric and diesel busses.
Superintendent Brett Mellum says the district will get a grant of four hundred forty thousand dollars.
Mellum says there will be a learning curve with the electric bus.
Mellum says they will get a high efficiency diesel bus also.
Mellum says they now have seven busses that drive average routes of forty to fifty miles a day.
Other districts that got grants include: Hanson County, DeSmet, Garretson, Lower Brule and Sioux Valley in Volga.
