Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University head coach Brent Aldridge announced the signing of Lauren Marcuson (Warner, S.D.) today as a member of the 2024 Northern State volleyball team. She will join the class of Avery Goebel (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Linnea Nesheim (Sioux Fall, S.D.), and Ava Nilsson (Mansfield, S.D.).
Lauren Marcuson – Defensive Specialist, Warner, S.D. / Warner HS
Lauren Marcuson is a 5-foot-7 defensive specialist out of Warner High School. She was a 5-year starter and senior team captain for the Monarchs under the direction of head coach Kari Jung. Marcuson tallied 1,519 digs, 1,014 kills, 155 assists, and 105 aces in her prep career. She was a 2-time all-conference first team selection, all-state honoree on the first team (2023) and second team (2022), and a finalist for Miss Volleyball. She is the daughter of Tricia and Barry Marcuson.
Aldridge’s Thoughts: “We have watched Lauren play from the time she was little. She is a very competitive player that has done a lot of winning during her career at Warner High School. Although Lauren was an undersized outside hitter at Warner, she will fit in very nicely with a very talented group of backrow players currently in the program. I look forward to getting Lauren and the 2024 class in the gym to add to the competitive nature that is Wolves volleyball.”
