LAKE POINSETT, S.D. (KXLG) – As of Friday morning water elevations continue to slowly rise at Lake Poinsett says Hamlin County Emergency Management Director Dave Schaefer. He says that nearly a half foot of water has over topped both U.S. Highway 81 and South Dakota Highway 28 adjacent to the lake. He cautions motorists to obey the five mph speed limits posted by the DOT in those areas.
He’s hoping water levels will begin dropping next week.
He cautioned motorists to slow down.
