WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)–After less than two years on the job, Rob Cyrus is out as manager of Watertown Regional Airport.

A source tells KWAT News that his employment with the city was terminated on Friday.

His hiring was announced in June 2022. He was a veteran of 24 years in the Air Force and had also served as a Military and Family Readiness Specialist for the South Dakota Army National Guard.

Public Works Director Heath VonEye, who was on the selection committee that hired Cyrus, will serve as interim manager until a replacement is hired.
