WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)- Bids were opened Tuesday from companies interested in remodeling and expanding the former Wells Fargo Bank building in downtown Watertown into a new City Hall.
Seven bids were received. The low bid from Huff Construction of Aberdeen came in at just under
$4.2 million.
Public Works Director Heath VonEye.
The city bought the bank building in late 2020 for $1.3 million, but it has sat empty since then.
VonEye says these latest bids could finally bring the lengthy search for a new City Hall to an end.
The city council will review the bids and decide which company, if any, to hire at their April 1st meeting.
