Watertown City Council receive update on the new ice arena

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- Tegra Group updated Watertown City Council on the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena project. Mike Van Klei representing Tegra, presented the new updates.

“Enhancements” have been made.

Construction started in October of 2022 and is still projected to be able to take occupancy by December 2023. The project is also still tracking on budget at this time.

Van Klei mentions putting money back into the project.

As the owner, the City will be furnishing some equipment, including a Zamboni, various operational and kitchen equipment, and Scoreboards.

The fundraising committee hopes to have a center-hung scoreboard, which would be at an additional cost.

Van Klei discusses some of the enhancements that are all within budget.
