WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- The Watertown Development Company (WDC) has announced the appointment of Angie Yahne as the new Director of Economic Development Project Management, effective January 7, 2025.

Angie Yahne joined WDC in January 2024 as an Executive Assistant and quickly demonstrated her leadership skills. She was promoted to Economic Development Project Manager in October 2024 and now takes on the role of Director.

In her new position, Angie will lead initiatives to foster economic growth, attract new businesses, and improve the business climate in Watertown. She has been key in pushing forward initiatives like the Daycare Coalition and Affordable Housing Summit and creating Master Plans for Lake Air Industrial Park and Pheasant Ridge Industrial Park. Angie has also worked on bringing new businesses to the region and supporting current business expansions.

Angie is working towards her IEDC certification to become a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD). In her new role, she will collaborate closely with local businesses, government entities, and community stakeholders.
