WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT) — Watertown High School is switching to an online learning schedule for the rest of this week, effective today.
It’s due to a rising number of COVID-19 cases among students according to School District Superintendent Dr. Jeff Danielsen.
This doesn’t mean it’s vacation time for students.
Danielsen hopes this is a short-term interruption of classroom time.
It’s exactly the scenario they thought could happen going into the school year—a COVID breakout at one of the district’s schools.
Danielsen says all extra curricular activities for grades 7 through 12 are suspended for the week.
