WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)–A Watertown man was arrested on a felony Hit and Run charge following a vehicle-pedestrian accident that injured a child Thursday afternoon.

Police say it happened in the 1000-block of Third Avenue Northeast.

A car driven by 98 year-old Sylvester Korbel was going east through a school zone when he struck an eight year-old boy who was crossing Third Avenue in a crosswalk.

Korbel briefly stopped, but then left the scene without providing any identifying information or reporting the accident.

The car was located several blocks away by police.

Korbel was booked into jail.

The boy was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
