Watertown man arrested for second-degree murder

WATERTOWN, S.D.  (KWAT) — A Watertown man is being held in the Codington County Detention Center on a million dollars cash-only bond following his arrest Thursday morning for Second Degree Murder.

Forty year-old Jeremiah Peacemaker is accused of killing 28 year-old Kendra Owen at her residence in the 300-block of North Broadway.

Owen’s body was found Wednesday night by police conducting a welfare check on her.

Police describe Peacemaker and Owen as “recent acquaintances.”

A cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, which was scheduled to be done Thursday.
