Watertown man dies following crash south of town

WATERTOWN, S.D. –  A Watertown, S.D., man has been identified as the person who died from injuries sustained from a one-vehicle crash in Watertown on Oct. 24, 2021.

Preliminary crash information indicates that a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup was westbound on 20th Ave. SW and making the curve to go south when the vehicle left the roadway to the west and rolled several times.

Raymond Starr, 44, was the driver and lone occupant. He was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries. He died Wednesday, Nov. 3, in a Sioux Falls hospital.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
