WATERTOWN, S.D. (Press release) – A Watertown, S.D., man has been identified as the person who died last Friday in a two-vehicle crash northwest of Watertown.

A 2009 Ford Focus was westbound on South Dakota Highway 20 when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound 2020 Cascadia Freightliner. Both vehicles went into the north ditch.

Casey Hundstad, the 21-year-old driver of the Ford Focus, was pronounced dead at the scene. Kendall Enzminger of Medina, N.D., 57, was the driver of the Freightliner. He was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

That portion of Highway 20 was closed for 3 ½ hours.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
