WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- Codington County Sheriff’s Department has an active arrest warrant out for Devon Burgher, 24, of Watertown, SD, for charges including kidnapping first-degree, simple assault domestic, false imprisonment, contributing to a delinquency of a minor, and harassing phone calls.

According to the report, the Sheriff’s department was “dispatched to a residence in Florence, SD on January 27, 2023, around 8:40 pm for a report of domestic assault.”

The report continues after an additional investigation uncovered a previous incident on January 26, 2023, in the early morning hours; Burgher had assaulted a female inside a residence before forcing her into his vehicle and leaving the scene while leaving the female’s 18-month-old child unattended at home.

Burgher drove the female out into the county before forcing her out of the vehicle and leaving her stranded outside city limits in below-freezing temperatures. Burgher returned a short time later and picked the female back up before returning her to the residence.
