WATERTOWN, S.D.(AlphaMedia)–Watertown Mayor Sarah Caron has made it official: she’s running for re-election.
She made the announcement via a press release this morning.
The mayor pointed to some major accomplishments since taking office in 2017.
But there’s more work to be done, namely in the areas of housing and employment.
The next mayor will take office at a time when a new City Manager comes on board.
The city manager will take on the day-to-day operations of running the city, with the mayor taking on a part-time, reduced role.
Caron says she’s the best candidate to make that transition.
Caron is one of three announced candidates running for mayor.
The others are city council president Adam Lalim (lahl-um) and former assistant city engineer Colin Paulsen.
Election Day is June 15th.
