WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)–A member of the Watertown Police Department retired Monday.

The Watertown City Council accepted the retirement of K-9 officer Sadie.

Patrol Captain Ryan Beauchamp told the council a little about Sadie at their meeting Monday night.

Sadie is a Dutch Shepherd who came to Watertown from the Netherlands.

She’ll spend her retirement days with her original handler, Police Sergeant Cody Trumm.
