WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT) — Watertown police officers were recently outfitted with new body cameras.
They’ve been using cameras for a few years, but this is an updated model according to Assistant Police Chief Tim Toomey.
All the data recorded on the body cameras, both the old models and the new ones, gets stored as evidence in case it’s ever needed. These new models have some, “bells and whistles” the old models didn’t feature.
All officers, including the animal control officer, are wearing the new body cameras.
Reserve officers still wear the older model.
