WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT) — AAA Auto Club says 115.6 million Americans will be traveling over the Christmas holiday period through Wednesday Jan. 1.
That’s about four-percent more than last year, and for travelers in the Upper Midwest, the weather should not be a big factor.
Scott Doering is a forecaster at the National Weather Service office in Aberdeen.
It’s the continuation of a mainly dry, warm weather pattern that’s been in place for most of December.
But winter is just getting underway. The first full day of winter was Sunday, so Doering says things could certainly change as we head into the new year.
