Wildfire risk in South Dakota

MITCHELL, S.D.(KMIT)- It’ summer, hot and despite a wet June the danger of fire is high.  Patty Cormeir (Core-meyer) Director of the Maine Forest Service talks about the danger of wildfires across the country, including those caused from farm machinery here in South Dakota.

Wildfires have consequences that go beyond the threat to people and their homes.

Almost five million acres have been torched by wildfires in the United States, so far this year.
