Wings Break Out Brooms In St. Cloud

St. Cloud, MN (AberdeenWings.com) – The Wings were able to come away with 4 points on their weekend series at St. Cloud.

It was a back and forth weekend for the Aberdeen Wings as they took on the St. Cloud Norsemen.  St. Cloud got on the board first with a Tyler Dysart goal at the 16:07 mark of the 1st period.  The Wings would respond just seconds later when Nikolai Tishkevich would score with Reim and Bulgakov assisting.  Brandon Panzer would put the Norsemen back on top midway through the 2nd to take a 2-1 lead into the final 20 minutes.  Jackson Anderson would tie the game for the Wings late in the 3rd with a goal at the 14:50 mark.  Tishkevich and Pollock would get the assist.  After a scoreless overtime period it would be Grant Kohnen scoring the only shootout goal after 8 rounds to give the Wings a 3-2 win and 2 points.  Adam Dybal was solid in net stopping 38 of 40 shots and all 8 shootout attempts.

Saturday was more of the same as the Norsemen were able to get on the board first after a Kyle Miller goal.  Drew Mackie would answer with his first goal of the season, from the point on the power play.  Tishkevich and Wisener would get the assists.  Michael Coleman for St. Cloud would respond for the Norsemen with a goal at the 14:36 mark, but once again Aberdeen would answer.  This time with a goal from Nikolai Tishkevich, with assists going to Bulgakov and Anderson making it 2-2 after the first.  St. Cloud would once again take the lead just 1:27 into the 2nd period with a goal from Gavin Gunderson.  Tishkevich would get his 2nd of the night just 3 minutes later to once again tie the game.  Bulgakov and Pollock are credited with the assists.  Finally the Wings would take the lead for the first time on a Matthew Wisener goal that would eventually be the game winner.  Anderson assisted on the Wisener goal.  Adam Dybal was once again strong in goal as he stopped 22 of 25 shots on the weekend.

The Wings return to the Odde this coming weekend when they take on the Austin Bruins.
