ABERDEEN, SD (AberdeenWings.com) – The Wings took on the Minot Minotauros in the Odde Ice Center, and earned 2 of 4 points on the weekend.
The first period started slow, and it was not until the 14:58 mark where Minot’s Niklas Ketonen would score the first goal of the night. The score was 0-1 (Minot), heading into the second period.
After having a scoreless second period, Minot would score again at the 13:34 mark, crediting the goal to Nicholas Sewecke. And finally, Minot would score again while the Wings had the man-advantage, and Trevor Stachowiak would shoot towards the empty net to finalize the score at 0-3, Minot.
In net for the Wings on Friday was Adam Dybal, who saved 33 of 35. Dybal made major saves throughout the entire game, and worked hard to ensure the ice was not tipped too far.
Saturday night, however, the Wings worked harder offensively, and saw results. Simon Pollock would start the scoring at the 6:32 mark of the first period when given the chance on a Power Play. The assists would go to Logan Gravink, and Riley Sharun. The period would end with a score of 1-0 (Wings).
In the second period, it would be Nikolai Tishkevich scoring his 15th goal of the season with crediting assists to Leonid Bulgakov, and Simon Pollock. Minot would respond at the 12:47 mark, when Colby Bear would be the first to get them on the board for the night. But, before the period would end, Leonid Bulgakov would score his 15th goal of the season as well, giving Nikolai Tishkevich and Simoon Pollock the assists. The Wings would head into the third period being up 3-1, and Simon Pollock would already have a goal and 2 assists on the night.
In the third period, Minot would make it interesting when Nicholas Sewecke would score at the 7:12 mark. Simon Pollock for the Wings would then score his second goal of the night, scoring while the puck was in mid air. Isak Holmstrom would receive the assist. At the 18:03 mark, Kie Vahakangas would end the scoring for the night, shooting at the empty net, and leaving the score 5-2 (Wings). Wes Turner and Nikolai Tishkevich would earn the assists.
Multiple players for the Wings ended Saturday night with multiple points, including Nikolai Tishkevich (1 Goal, 2 Assists), Leonid Bulgakov (1 Goal, 1 Assist), and Simon Pollock (2 Goals, 2 Assists).
Another player for the Wings receiving points after this weekend, is Croix Kochendorfer. In net, Croix stopped 37 of 39, and also had some huge saves on the weekend.
