Wings Drop Pair in Magic City

MINOT, ND (AberdeenWings.com) – The Aberdeen Wings traveled to Minot to take on the Minotauros over the first weekend of March.

Friday’s contest started slow until Weston Knox for the Minotauros was able to find the back of the net. With this being the only scoring opportunity in the first period, the score was 0-1 going into the second.

In the second period, it wouldn’t be until the 11:53 mark when Nicholas Sewecke for the Tauros would score, extending their lead. Without a response from the Wings, Colby Bear would score, making the score 0-3 in favor of the Tauros going into the final period of the night.

Finally, at the 9:59 mark of the final period, Luke Backel for the Wings would score- assists going to Grant Winkler and Matthew Wisener, but Minot would respond and the game would end with a score of 1-4 – going to Minot.

Croix Kocendorfer was in net for the Wings and saved 36 of 40.

 

Minot would start the scoring off on Saturday also with the only goal in the first period going to Jack O’Hanisain for Minot. The score was 0-1 going into the second.

In the second period, Chad Muller, Niklas Ketonen, and Colby Bear would add to Minot’s scoring making the score 4-0 going into the third.

In the third and final period of the away weekend, Riley Sharun for the Wings would score, granting assists to Logan Gravink and Lucas Lidstrom.

Adam Dybal was in net for the Wings and stopped 38 of 42.

 

The Wings will be back in the Odde this weekend March 8th and 9th to take on the Bismarck Bobcats. March 8th is the Small Dog Race at the Odde!
