Wings Earn Weekend Split In Magic City

MINOT, ND (AberdeenWings.com) – The Wings rallied Saturday to earn a weekend split at Minot.

Friday night the Wings dug themselves a hole, allowing 3 power play goals in the first two periods.  Chad Muller scored first for the Minotauros midway through the first period.  Jockims and O’Hanisain assisted on the goal.  Minot would add two more early in the second, getting goals from O’Hanisain and Small.  Muller Jockims (2) and Lehtinen would get assists.  Kie Vahakangas would get the Wings on the board late in the 2nd period with Anderson and Tishkevich assisting.  Isak Holmstrom would make things interesting at the 6:12 mark of the 3rd period when he got the Wings to within a goal, Sharun and Turner assisted.  Minot would close out the scoring late in the 3rd to take a 4-2 Friday night win.  Adam Dybal stopped 34 of 38 shots in the loss.

Saturday it was once again Kie Vahakangas getting the Wings on the board, this time it gave the Wings a 1-0 lead at the 7:45 mark of the first period.  Mackie and Kochendorfer assisted.  Minot would get a Rylan Jockims goal to tie the game in the 2nd with Lehtinen and Woogk assisting.  That would be all the offense Minot would get though as the Wings defense and a 39 save performance on 40 shots faced from Croix Kochendorfer would shut the door on the Minotauros.  Riley Sharun, Jackson Anderson and Logan Gravnik would add 3rd period goals to give the Wings a 4-1 Saturday win and 2 points.  Collora (2), Tishkevich, Sharun, Vahakangas and Anderson would get assists on the 3 thrid period goals.

The win was the 700th in the coaching career of Wings Head Coach & General Manager Scott Langer.
