Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – The NSU volleyball team came up short against the Wildcats of Wayne State in their four-set match Friday. This is the first home loss of the season for the Wolves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wolves fell to the Wildcats in four tough sets; the set scores were 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, and 15-25
- Northern State hit .206 as a team, finishing with 55 kills, 45 assists, 77 digs, and three service aces
- A late 5-0 run helped Northern State erase a 21-16 deficit in the opening set, tying the frame at 21-21 behind kills from Linnea Nesheim and Katelyn Schroeder
- A 6-1 run midway through the third featured kills from Schroeder and Nesheim as the Wolves built a 17-9 advantage
- Northern maintained control late in the third, reaching set point at 24-20 before Schroeder closed it out with a service ace for the 25-20 victory
- Schroeder paced the Wolves with 18 kills and 19.5 points; Nesheim recorded a double-double with 17 kills and 12 digs
- Ashley Yost anchored the defensive effort with a match-high 27 digs, while Sara Moberg notched 13 digs herself
- Nilsson also distributed 43 of the team’s 45 assists while adding 14 digs and a kill
- Victoria Persha recorded four kills, one ace and two total blocks, while Lydia Nelson added seven kills and two block assists
- Morissen Samuels provided seven kills on .250 hitting, along with a block assist
