Indianola, IA (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University track and field teams competed at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College. The athletes that competed today included Josh Martin, Jonathan Burkhalter, Nathan Alto, Evan Halbe, Megan Pickering, and Jolie Dugan.
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Josh Martin won the 1500m race and finished in a time of 3:54.74
- Jonathan Burkhalter took 14th in the 3,000m steeple with a new personal record of 9:34.10
- Nathan Alto placed seventh in the 5,000m clocking 14:49.15 which was his first time breaking the 15-minute barrier
- Evan Halbe placed 43rd in a time of 15:41.57 in the 5,000m
WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 5,000m Megan Pickering placed tenth finishing in a time of 17:41.00
- Jolie Dugan took 14th place in the 3,000m steeple with a new career record of 12:10.77

The Northern State University track and field teams continue tomorrow competing at both the Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open. Events begin at 9:18 a.m. at Drake and 10:00 a.m. at Simpson.
