Wolves Drop Game One (of Four) @ Fossum Field

ABERDEEN, SD (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University baseball team fell to St Cloud State, 5-3 in NSIC action. The long ball played a huge role in the day as there were three homeruns in the contest. Jonah Schmidt recorded three RBIs on the day along with a two run homerun.

Records: NSU 12-15 (NSIC 7-10), SCSU 15-11, (NSIC 11-5)



  • St. Cloud State kicked off the game in the top of the first with a solo homerun to take the lead
  • Northern State responded back as Jonah Schmidt drove on over the right field fence that scored Jack Weidner to put them ahead in the bottom of the second
  • After three scoreless innings the Huskies took the lead in top of the fifth with a two run homerun
  • SCSU extended their lead by one run in the top of the sixth to lead by two runs
  • In the bottom of the sixth inning, Schmidt flied out to center field that scored Karson Hesser to trail by one
  • St. Cloud State tallied one run in the top of the seventh to lead by two
  • The Wolves notched three runs off of eight hits and no errors
  • Max Otto recorded the loss in 5.2 innings pitched with eight strikeouts
  • In 3.1 innings of work, Jack Miller tallied two strikeouts against 14 hitters
