Mankato, MN (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University track and field teams competed in the first day of the NSIC Outdoor Championship. The decathlon athletes completed five of their ten events and the heptathlon athletes finished four of their seven events.
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Birnir Finnsson has taken first place after the first day of the decathlon with 3,559 points and marks of 11.24 in the 100m, 6.91m in long jump, 11.11n in shot put, 1.84m in high jump, and 51.53 in the 400m
- Ross Kortenbusch is in 11th place after day one with 2,905 points and marks of 11.69 in the 100m, 5.58m in long jump, 11.71m in shot put, 1.63m in high jump, and 54.55 in the 400m
- Sean Juengst sits in 13th place with 2,849 points and marks of 12.46 in the 100m, 5.94m in long jump, 10.15m in shot put, 1.78m in high jump, and 54.79 in the 400m
WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Morgan Sheldon is in tenth place after day one of the heptathlon with 2,743 points and marks of 15.28 in the 100m hurdles, 1.56m in high jump, 10.56m in shot put, and 27.35 in the 200m
- Tayla Dobrenski is in 17th place with 2,477 points and marks of 15.80 in the 100m hurdles, 1.56m in high jump, 8.92m in shot put, and 28.53 in the 200m
- Addison Cumbow sits in 19th place with 2,321 points and marks of 15.74 in the 100m hurdles, 1.41m in high jump, 8.45m in shot put, and 28.09 in the 200m
- Jordan West is in 23rd place after day one with 2,078 points and marks of 18.04 in the 100m hurdles, 1.44m in high jump, 9.29m in shot put, and 28.98 in the 200m
