Fargo, ND (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State Track and Field teams returned to the University of Mary for the Mike Thorson Open Meet. Both the women and men placed first in team scores and had eight event wins combined.
Men’s Highlights
- Sam Tremelling won the pole vault event with a height of 4.77m and Noah Ford secured 2nd place with 4.37m
- In the long jump Birnir Vagn Finnsson placed third with a jump of 6.95m
- Treyson Schulz and Max Vande Kieft competed in the triple jump coming in 3rd and 4th with 13.11m and 12.78m
- Vance Borchers was 4th in the high jump with 1.93m
- Nick Olson notched a 2nd place in the weight throw with 17.59m and 3rd place in the shot put with a throw of 14.55
- Joel Matehs was 2nd in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.03. and Finnsson was 4th with 8.58
- In the 60m dash Noah Bayer came in 3rd with 6.97
- Seth Martens and Bayer were 4th and 5th in the 200m with close times of 22.77 and 22.78
- Drew Salfrank won the 400m finishing in 50.81 seconds. Teammates Carter Dingman and Martens finished in 3rd and 4th place clocking 51.56 and 51.70
- Turner Thorson placed 3rd in the 600m in 1:28.79
- In the 800m Ricky Berndt finished 5th with a time of 2:00.22
- Josh Martin crossed the finish line first in the 1000m run with a time of 2:34.36. Dalton Fleckenstein was 2nd in 2:40.23 and Blake Stoks was 5th with 2:48.58
- The 1 mile was won by Nathan Alto who finished in 4:19.20
- Jacob Angerhofer had a 2nd place finish in the 3000m with 9:19.93. Taylor Thorson placed 5th in the event as well in 9:29.38
- Men’s 4x400m relay with Finnsson, Carter Moller, Drew Henriksen, and Dingman placed 3rd crossing in a time of 3:31.34
Women’s Highlights
- Bekah Walz was 2nd in the pole vault event with 3.27m and Kenzee Danielson was 5th with a height of 2.97m
- Sierra Sweeney won the triple jump in 11.32m and placed 4th in the long jump with 5.34m
- Kamryn Schwartz was 2nd in the triple jump with 10.95m and Alison Theis placed 5th with 9.70m
- In the high jump Jordan Tschumperlin, Emily Breske, and Morgan Sheldon placed 3rd through 5th with heights of 1.58m, 1.58m, and 1.53m
- Cassidy Gough threw 16.95m placing her 2nd in the weight throw
- Morgan Sheldon placed 2nd in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.47 and Karli Klein was 5th with 9.79
- The 400m was dominated by Kyanna Collymore, Vanessa Christensen, and Emma Hunt with 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed finishes. Their times were 1:00.63, 1:01.36, and 1:03.52 respectively
- Alli Jackson ran 1:41.91 in the 600m placing in 3rd
- The 1000m event was won by Avery Miles in a time of 3:15.37. Jordan Hermansen and Chloe Strom were 4th and 5th with 3:36.26 and 3:50.45
- Jolie Dugan was 5th in the mile with 5:51.65
- Megan Pickering won the 3000m in a time of 10:22.06. Teammates Avery Murray and Adisen Stadem followed in 2nd and 3rd place with times of 11:17.42 and 11:38.43
- Women’s 4x400m won with a time of 4:09.34, consisting of sprinters Collymore, Jackson, Klein, and Christensen
