Wolves Shine In Grand Forks [T&F Recap]

Grand Forks, ND (NSUWolves.com) [Day 1] – The Northern State University track and field team kicked off action at the UND Open Friday. Nine top-3 finishes were from Wolves, along with three event victories.

HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN

  • The men notched three first place finishes and seven top-3 finishes on day one of the UND Open
  • Tied for first in the 60m was Brener Conrad and Eli Radtke, crossing the finish line at 7.18; this time set a personal best for both Conrad and Radtke
  • Jeff Boschee jumped 2.03m in the men’s high jump, earning him first; Boschee also got third in the long jump and shot put with distances of 6.39m and 11.04m respectively
  • Radtke was the runner up in the shot put, throwing 11.99m; he also placed third with a mark of 1.85m in the high jump
  • Boschee hit a personal record in the 60m with a time of 7.62

HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN

  • Two women saw a top-3 finish for the Wolves on day one of the UND Open, both by Morgan Sheldon
  • Sheldon secured second in the high jump, clearing 1.54m, and third in the long jump with a distance of 5.19m (a personal best)

Grand Forks, ND (NSUWolves.com) [Day 2] – The Northern State University track and field team wrapped up the UND Open Saturday. The Wolves had 12 top-3 finishes and nine personal bests on day two.

HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN

  • On day two of the UND Open, the men recorded two first place finishes and nine top-3 placers
  • Eli Radtke and Jeffery Boschee captured the top spots in the men’s pole vault with marks of 4.70m and 4.20m respectively
  • Boschee also set the top time in the 1000m, crossing the finish line at 2:57.83; Elias Londahl followed in second with a time of 3:00.04
  • Setting a meet record and finishing ahead of several Division I athletes was Chris Weber in the 60m; Weber ran a 6.81, earning him second
  • Radtke was the runner up in the 60m hurdles with an 8.57 time whereas Jayden Munroe placed second in the long jump (7.13m)
  • The team of Drew SalfrankGeoffrey ManninoDrew Henriksen, and Carter Dingman took second in the 4x400m with a 3:19.43; they were the top Division II team
  • The 600m saw Gracen Hansen finish in third at 1:24.65

BEYOND THE RESULTS

  • Four men set personal bests on the day; Blake Stoks in the 1 mile (4:41.64), Jesse Pietz in the 300m (38.14), Hansen in the 200m (23.87), and Patrick Severson in the 3000m (9:25.81)

HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN

  • The women had three top-3 finishers on the day two of the UND Open
  • Abby Hasart took second in the 5000m with a time of 18:16.48, setting a new personal record
  • The women’s pole vault saw Bekah Walz come in as the runner up with a mark of 3.78m
  • With a time of 24.67, Renea Taylor placed third in the 200m

BEYOND THE RESULTS

  • Personal records were set by five women on the day; Taylor in the 400m (57.05), Kali Norton in the 400m (1:00.00), Sophia Gates in the 600m (1:45.58), Chloe Peterson in the women’s weight throw (13.47m), and Alexa Fender in the long jump (5.53m)
