Burnsville, MN (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2026 Preseason Soccer Coaches’ Poll today with the Northern State University Wolves picked seventh in the league overall, recording 142 points. In addition, Chloe Voss and Lauren Youngquist were selected as the team’s players to watch heading into the 2026 season.
“I’m excited about the group dynamic we have this season. We return a group who dealt with a variety of adversity and came out the other side of those difficulties in a better place. They set a bar of expectation that should propel us into a solid start in 2026. We have a good number of players who either grew into new roles last season, or grew in their maturity at an established role. Combine these attributes with a good incoming class who will want to prove themselves, and we should have a great daily environment to get the best out of ourselves. In the end, if we can work towards our goals on a daily basis, then we will find ourselves in a good place at the end of the season.”

2025 RECAP
Northern finished 6-9-4 overall and 6-5-4 in the NSIC in the fall of 2025. Lauren Youngquist and Chloe Voss grabbed NSIC All-Conference second team honors and were both named to the CSC Academic All-District team. In addition, the Wolves qualified for the NSIC Tournament as the seventh seed.
2026 OUTLOOK
Northern State welcomes eight student-athletes in the fall of 2026. They will open the season at home with a pair of scrimmages and non-conference matches. St. Catherine and Mount Marty will travel to Aberdeen for scrimmage dates on August 21 and 23, while NSU will host Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Western to open the season on August 28 and 30. The 2026 NSIC Soccer Regular Season Champion will be determined by a 15-match league schedule, with a win earning a team three points and a tie one point. The 2026 NSIC Soccer season will see its first non-conference action on Thursday, August 27 with NSIC action beginning on Friday, September 11. The NSIC Tournament is scheduled for Monday, November 2, Friday, November 6 and Sunday, November 8. The top four seeds will host a first round match, followed by the semifinal and championship rounds at the campus of the highest remaining seed of the four quarterfinal winners.
