Wolves Softball Sees Season Come To A Close in SF

Sioux Falls, SD (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University softball team closed out their season on Wednesday at the NSIC Tournament. The tenth seeded Wolves fell to the seventh seeded Beavers from Bowden Field on the campus of Augustana University.

Records: NSU 25-24, MiSU 23-18

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Wolves and Beavers played four innings of scoreless softball with Minot State breaking through in the bottom of the fifth
  • The Beavers tallied three runs in the fifth inning, following an overturned ground-out call which would have ended the inning
  • Minot State recorded one run on the play and added two more on the following at-bat
  • MiSU extended their lead in the sixth with four more runs off a pair of back-to-back homeruns
  • Northern tallied three hits in the contest and suffered two defensive errors
  • Lexi Chase suffered the loss, giving up seven runs on eight hits with two strikeouts

UP NEXT

Northern State finished off the 2024 season with a 25-24 record overall, notching the first winning season since 2018*. Three Wolves were named to the NSIC All-Conference teams released yesterday, including Lexi Chase, Avarie Eagle, and Ashley Fauske.
