HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State opened up their swimming and diving season with a huge win over Jamestown at home, earning first-place finishes in seven of the nine events
- Transfer Peyton Tesmer had a stellar performance tonight in the water, tallying three total wins (two individual and one relay win), finishing first in the 50-meter freestyle (28.97 seconds), the 100-meter freestyle (1:03.80) and the 200-meter freestyle relay (1:55.77)
- Sydney Rogers also earned three first place finishes, taking first in the 50-meter backstroke (32.90 seconds), the 200-meter freestyle relay (1:55.77) and the 200-meter medley relay (2:09.73)
- In the 200-meter freestyle, Sidney Masgras took gold at 2:24.90 while Lorelai Grund finished at 2:28.44 for silver
- Ella Wanschura tallied two podium finishes, in the 100-meter IM for second (1:12.55) and the 50-meter breaststroke for first (36.39 seconds)
- NSU’s 200-meter medley relay team consisting of Rogers, Marie Loest, Emma Moore and Emma Machado took first with a time of 2:09.73
- The Wolves finished in back-to-back in the 200-meter freestyle with Tesmer, Moore, Rogers and Laila Gordillo taking first at 1:55.77 while Carly Gleaves, Grund, Machado and Masgras finishing in second at 1:58.24
- Northern State’s 114 points was the most the team has scored in a head-to-head meet in 11 competitions
