Bismarck, ND (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University track and field teams competed at the Marauders Indoor Open meet to start off the 2023-24 indoor track season. The Wolves totaled 31 top-five finishes.
Men’s Highlights
- Joel Matehs won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.38 and Isaac Ligon finished in fifth place crossing the finish line in8.83
- The Wolves took first through fourth in the pole vault, led by Sam Tremelling with a mark of 4.70m
- Eli Radtke took second with a vault of 4.60m, while Noah Ford and Isaac Ligon placed third and fourth with marks of 4.60m and 4.10m respectively
- Nick Olson won the weight throw with 16.60m and finished third in the shot put with 13.93m
- In the 60m dash, Noah Bayer came in third with a time of 7.05
- Carter Dingman and Drew Henriksen placed fourth and fifth in the 600m, finishing with close times of 1:25.52 and 1:25.55
- Drew Salfrank placed fourth in the 400m finishing in 51.41
- In the high jump Birnir Frinnsson placed third with a jump of 1.85m, while Vance Borchers and Carter Moller tied for fourth with jumps of 1.80m
- Treyson Schulz jumped 12.61m recording a fourth place finish in the triple jump
- The men’s 4x400m won the race with a time of 3:30.72; runners included Salfrank, Dingman Henriksen, and Damon Roggenbuck
Women’s Highlights
- Sierra Sweeney won the Triple Jump with a length of 11.15m
- Cassidy Gough placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 15.03m
- Kenzee Danielson, Bekah Walz, Makenna Glanzer, and Gracie Esienbraun swept the pole vault event placing first through fourth vaulting 3.40m, 3.30m, 3.00m, and 2.80m
- Karli Klein placed fifth in the 60m hurdles finishing in 9.54
- Kyanna Collymore and Vanessa Christiansen placed third and fifth in the 400m with times of 1:00.46 and 1:01.41.
- Collymore added a fourth place finish in the 200m dash in 26.63
- In the high jump Jordan Tschumperlin and Emily Breske placed third and fifth with jumps of 1.60m and 1.55m
- The 4x400m relay team of Klein, Emma Hunt, Jordan West, and Morgan Sheldon placed third with a time of 4:21.83
