Wolves T&F Competes In Bismarck To Open Season

Bismarck, ND (NSUWolves.com) The Northern State University track and field team kick started their 2024-25 season on Saturday at the UMary Mike Thorson Open. The Wolves tallied 45 top-10 finishes from the meet, including five event victories.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
  • Noah Bayer kicked off the season for the men with a fifth place finish in the 60m, crossing the finish line in 7.06
  • Ty Kadlec followed that up with a sixth place finish in the 200m with a time of 22.73, while Drew Salfrank and Damon Roggenbuck took fourth and seventh in the 400m with times of 51.18 and 52.49
  • Carter Dingman led five Wolves in the top-10 of the 600m, taking second with a time of 1:25.58
  • Drew Henrikson took fifth in 1:26.74, Jessup Pederson too seventh in 1:27.92, Zach Terrio took eighth in 1:28.21 and Dan Istvanovich took tenth in 1:32.02
  • Joel Matehs and Luke Campbell placed second and seventh in the 60m hurdles, clocking in at 8.28 and 8.79 respectively
  • In the 4x400m relay, the teams of Salfrank, Dingman, Roggenbuck, and Henriksen took first with a time of 3:25.16, while the team of Campbell, Terrio, Lincoln Woodring, and Istvanovich took fourth with a time of 3:39.86
  • Jeff Boschee won the high jump with a 1.98m mark, while Carter Moller took sixth clearing 1.83m
  • Sam Tremelling won the pole vault, leading four Wolves in the top-10, with a 4.59m jump
  • Eli Radtke took second clearing 4.59m, Isaac Ligon took sixth with a 4.29m mark, and Sean Juengst placed ninth with a 3.84m jump
  • Jayden Munroe and Treyson Schulz placed third and ninth in the long jump, with marks of 6.99m and 6.53m
  • Munroe went on to win the triple jump with a 14.10m jump, while Schulz placed fourth with a 13.40m mark
  • Ethan Barnett and Ross Kortenbusch led the throwers in the shot put, taking fourth and seventh with marks of 14.19m and 12.57m
  • Justin Jacobson and Kaden St. Pierre added fifth and eighth place finishes in the weight throw with tosses of 14.07m and 12.43m
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
  • Anna Skachenko led the way in the 400m, finishing in fifth with a time of 1:00.22, followed by Kyanna Collymore in ninth and Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir in tenth with a times of 1:00.49 and 1:01.18 respectively
  • Morgan Sheldon and Addison Cumbow ran to third and eighth place finishes in the 60m hurdles with times of 9.36 and 9.97
  • The 4x400m relay team of Jonsdottir, Emma Hunt, Skachenko, and Collymore won the race, crossing the finish line in 4:08.97, while the squad of Sheldon, Rachel Miklos, Tayla Dobrenski, and Jordan West took fourth with a time of 4:27.58
  • Dobrenski went on to take third in the high jump with a mark of 1.64m, followed by Emily Breske and Sheldon in fifth and sixth with marks of 1.59m and 1.54m
  • Bekah Walz and Gracie Eisenbraun finished second and third in the pole vault, clearing 3.20m and 3.05m, while Makenna Glanzer placed seventh with a 2.45m jump
  • Cumbow and West rounded out the top-10 of the long jump with marks of 4.64m and 4.56m
  • Grace Kuch led off the throwing events, taking fourth in the shot put with a 11.51m heave
  • Brooke Mushatt and Olivia Ashley led the way in the weight throw, taking ninth and tenth with marks of 12.86m and 12.77m
