Wolves Wrap Drake Relays Breaking PGM Records

Des Moines, IA (NSUWolves.com) [Day 2 of 3] – The Northern State University track and field team finished day two of the Drake Relays Friday. Wolves’ relay teams finished with top-10 standings and new school records were recorded.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In the women’s 4x100m was the team of Julia SkariRenea Taylor, Anna Sckachenko, and Alexa Fender; their 47.23 time earned them sixth place and qualified for finals
  • The team of Geoffrey ManninoDrew HenriksenCarter Dingman, and Ty Kadlec finished nineth with a time of 1:26.60 in the men’s 4x200m
  • Placing 13th in the 4x400m was the relay team of Drew Salfrank, Henriksen, Mannino, and Dingman with their 3:14.54 time

BEYOND THE RESULTS

  • The women’s 4x100m team marked the program’s first final 4x100m team at the Drake Relays
  • The men’s 4x200m team broke a school record with their time at the Drake Relays; the previous record of 1:27.09 was set in 2024 by Chris Weber, Kadlec, Salfrank, and Noah Bayer
  • The long-standing program record of 3:14.96 set back in 1992 by Josh Trandall, Brent Sheehan, Aaron Ferrie, and Cory Schuerman was broken by today’s 4x400m men’s relay team

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Levi Reis competed in the men’s javelin throw championship division; he finished second overall, first amongst Division II, with a 66.27m throw
  • Taking second in the men’s long jump championship division was Jayden Munroe and his 7.62m leap; this mark ranks Munroe nineth in the nation
  • The team of Renea TaylorJulia SkariAddison Cumbow, and Morgan Sheldon notched a top-5 finish at the Drake Relays with their 1:00.36 shuttle hurdle time
  • Coming in sixth in the women’s 4x100m finals at 47.01 was the team of Skari, Taylor, Anna Skachenko, and Alexa Fender

BEYOND THE RESULTS

  • Reis’ 66.27m javelin throw broke the program record he set earlier this year of 64.67m at the USD Snooze Button Classic on April 8
  • Northern’s women’s shuttle hurdle relay set a new program record for the event; previously held by Cumbow, Taylor, Karli Klein, and Sheldon back in 2024 (1:01.73)
  • Breaking a school record was the women’s 4x100m team; the previous record of 47.25 was set in 2021 by Isabel Kinzer, Shona Juliana, Makenna Larson, and Shanice Burrell
