Woman charged with eluding, forgery, and grand theft following a police chase near Clark

Clark, SD(KXLG) —  Friday morning about 10:00 am the Clark County Sheriff’s office received a report of a gas drive off in Henry, SD west of Watertown.

The Sheriff’s office located the vehicle and attempted to make a stop in the city of Clark, however the vehicle failed to yield to the emergency lights resulting in a vehicle collision with another motorist.

Following the crash the fleeing vehicle entered a ditch with the driver exiting on foot. A search was completed, however they couldn’t locate the driver.

Later Friday afternoon at approximately 5:50 pm the Clark police department received information that a tractor was being driven approximately two miles West of Clark with a female matching the description given in the earlier chase.

Law enforcement responded to the location and located a John Deere tractor. The tractor driver failed to yield to law enforcement, but was eventually pulled over and stopped on highway 212.

Jayden Durick, age unknown, was taken into custody and charged with eluding, burglary and grand theft of the tractor.

Jayden is being held on a 20,000 dollar cash only bond along with another warrant out of Nevada.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected this week.

The Clark Sheriff’s office was assisted by the Clark Police Department , South Dakota Highway Patrol, and South Dakota Game Fish and Parks.
