FORT PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – Work on the new John C. Waldron Bridge will start this week in Fort Pierre. Fort Pierre Public Works Director Rick Hahn told the Fort Pierre City Council Monday night the first construction meeting for the bridge was held last week.
Hahn says work will continue through the winter.
The bridge crossing the Missouri River is expected to be finished by the end of 2022 with demolition and removal of the current bridge in 2023. Hahn says the City of Fort Pierre will get weekly construction updates from Jensen Construction, the contractor on the project.
