PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The “Workforce Housing Needs” interim study committee of the South Dakota legislature met last week in Sioux Falls.
A number of housing developers, local committees and agencies spoke to the legislators.
Committee Chairman, Representative Roger Chase of Huron, says he did hear some housing solutions.
Chase says they want broad based solutions.
Chase says he expects some legislation when they wrap up.
A similar study in 2017 ended with no bills passed in the legislature. Chase says conditions have changed since then and the state has more money on hand now for incentives.
