PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- An interim South Dakota legislative committee studying housing needs plans one more meeting next month.
The “Workforce Housing Needs” committee has met in Pierre, Rapid City and Sioux Falls so far.
A similar study was done in 2017, but those recommendations were rejected by the full legislature.
Committee Chairman, Representative Roger Chase of Huron, says conditions have changed since that last study.
Chase says the legislature is in a better financial position to help housing developers.
Chase says incentives may be part of their legislative proposals.
Chase says their wrap up meeting will be September 13th in Pierre.
