Storybook Land & campgrounds reopens at 4PM, rest of Wylie Park on lockdown

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- Today, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at approximately 12:30 pm, a suspicious subject was located at Wylie Park.  The suspicious subject was stating intention to cause harm to others.  The subject has been taken into custody by the Aberdeen Police Department.  Based on the subject’s comments and recent incidences at Wylie Park, Wylie Park has been placed on lockdown pending a thorough investigation

At 4:00 PM Storybook Land and the campground areas reopened.  The public will only be able to access those areas utilizing 24th Ave on the south side of the park and entering into the campground entrance.  The remainder of the park which includes the beach and lake area, Go Karts, Miniature Golf, and the main entrance on Hwy 281 are expected to open later on today.
