Yankton City Commission approve TIF for housing construction project

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The Yankton City Commission approved a tax increment financing district at their meeting last (Monday) night that should lead to a major downtown housing project.

Nathan Stencil of the Stencil Group of Sioux Falls outlined their plans for the project.

It will be located just east of the former Gurneys Seed and Nursery building and just north of Riverside Park.

Stencil says they plan on a number of features.

Stencil says they hope to start construction this summer.

The tax increment financing district, which would total over two million dollars, was approved unanimously by the commission.
