YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The Yankton City Commission will hold a public hearing at their Monday night meeting and then possibly vote on the extension of the face mask mandate.

That ordinance was passed in early December as Covid-19 cases spiked.

City Manager Amy Leon says the health board met this week and will have a recommendation for commissioners.

Leon says the health board suggests people should continue to follow CDC pandemic guidelines.

Mayor Nathan Johnson says the face mask ordinance has become more divisive.
